Hi guys, Nearly October and I thought I'd post a few stats about the club. Krav Maga Academy Scotland was only founded in August! Already we have branches in Kirkcaldy in Fife, Bellshill in Lanarkshire and In Livingston, West Lothian. Currently the club has between 45 - 50 active members...teriffic growth! in fact we are now the largest KMG affilliated Krav Maga club in Scotland! Krav Maga self defence really is for everybody...
Krav Maga Acad. Scotland, Fife (Kirkcaldy)
The first established class was the Kirkcaldy, Fife venue. Students there are both male and female, young and ...erm...not so young. Our guys travel from Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes, Leven, Kinghorn, Dalgetty Bay and even Dunfermline to go to class on a Tuesday and Sunday at the 'Fitness Factor'. Great group who always give 100% effort. Thanks for the support guys! ..Our Fife students are slightly further along the curriculum in Krav Maga and as such, will soon be spending much more time on weapons defences and more specific techniques.
Krav Maga Acad. Scotland, West Lothian and Edinburgh (Livingston)
This was our second class. We started on a Friday night in a martial arts gym near Deer park. About 6 weeks ago we moved to our new venue in the NuYuu gym, Almondvale centre and we have literally gone from strength to strength since! We are seeing new faces all the time and our core group there are a great bunch who travel from Bathgate, Linlithgow, Shotts, Motherwell and Even Edinburgh to attend. Next up for the West lothian/Edinburgh guys is Stick/bat type weapon attack scenarios and defences.
Krav Maga Acad. Scotland, South Lanarkshire /North Lanarkshire and Glasgow (Bellshill)
This is our most recent Krav maga class in Scotland. We have done no advertising for this class to let people know we are there; but already class numbers are growing steadily! Students are starting to come from other, already established areas to train with us (Motherwell, Hamilton, Airdrie, Coatbridge and even Glasgow)...we must be doing something right! About to start much more technique based sessions now the basics are grasped.
All these classes are actually filling up and very soon i'm going to have to put a cap on the numbers i'm afraid (so if you have friends, family members or are finding out about us for the first time..be quick). Its important I limit the classes to a size where i can monitor all student activities and spend time with everyone individually. As you guys know, At KMAS it's all about the Krav Maga.
Going forward guys, THe next milestone for the club is the October KMG Grading. When the dust settles after that we will move on and start to look at many more specific and adaptive techniques. Honestly guys, up to now we have barely scratched the surface of this superb system . We will look at Krav Maga principles etc. in much more depth. and we start to delve into the psychology and analysis of confrontations....all while dealing with multiple attackers (some armed), from positions of disadvantage, in various environments (winter drawing in, In krav maga we can use the dark, wet nights as an ideal training tool.... good times ahead! ha ha ha
Anyway, thats all for the now. It just remains for me to thank every one for their hard work and support to get us to this point.
Thankyou
